The inspiration for this collage ‘Ruimtegbruikers’ (‘space users’) came mainly from the book ‘Space around’ by Georges Perec. Perec literally describes his immediate surroundings in such an objective way that even known and meaningful objects acquire a certain unfamiliarity and emptiness.

Already in earlier work the question of the multiplicity of human perceptions occupies me; how I look at the world vs. the world views of others. In these collages I used Perec’s literary technique on the visual world.
